OUR MISSION:

Live Wire cultivates joy, discovery, and connection by amplifying unexpected and riveting voices to a national audience.

An independently produced non-profit in Portland, Oregon, the show artfully blends unpredictable conversation, live music, and original comedy featuring all types of cultural talent and creative minds, from emerging artists to established acts. We champion the curious-minded by producing witty, engaging, spirited, and genuine live and listening experiences for our audience and for ourselves. 

Live Wire is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization.  Your donation to Live Wire is 100% tax deductible.

We believe life is filled with inspired people doing fascinating and sometimes ridiculous things. We want to introduce you to those people. 
 
We believe artists are critically important to the world, and should be rewarded for their work. 
 
We believe "culturally relevant" and "funny" aren't mutually exclusive. 
 
We believe that through the shared experience of live theater and the intimacy of radio, we can tell great stories, introduce new ideas, spark conversations, and hopefully, elicit a belly laugh or two. 

LIVE WIRE RADIO’S ANTI-RACISM STATEMENT

Live Wire Radio is committed to fostering an organizational culture that prioritizes diversity, equity, inclusion and access. We are in active pursuit of becoming an anti-racist organization and will continue to espouse those values both internally and for our broadcast audience. We do not take our role in public media lightly and will continue to amplify underrepresented voices while engaging in a dialogue that helps us confront our implicit bias. As a white-led organization and white-hosted public radio program, we recognize that we inherently frame issues through a white lens. This is an ongoing conversation with no simple solution, but one that we continue to examine in our artistic work. We understand that anti-racism is a journey not a destination and we invite our Live Wire audience to hold us, and all arts organizations, accountable.
