Live Wire Radio | Radio Variety

Live Wire is looking for people in the Portland Area who have experienced or are doing something remarkable – whether that be leading a community initiative, participating in a competitive challenge, making a scientific discovery, or embarking on a creative endeavor. Fascinating Friends are interviewed on stage as a part of our show and then included in our broadcast across the country. Past Fascinating Friends have included Jenny Bruso (Unlikely Hikers) and Stephen Green (PitchBlack). We look forward to hearing your ideas!

Past Fascinating Friends:

STEPHEN GREEN (Ep. 360)
Stephen Green is all about building bridges and breaking down stereotypes. He's the founder of PitchBlack, an event created to give African-American entrepreneurs a platform to connect with the budding startup ecosystem in Portland. As an entrepreneur himself, a recovering banker, and self-confessed sneaker-head, Green works to build the community he wants to live and work in.

JENNY BRUSO (Ep. 357)
Jenny Bruso is a self-identified fat, femme, queer, writer and former indoor kid who, in 2012, went on an accidental hike revealing a new life trajectory of healing, self-care and adventure in the outdoors. Through sharing her personal stories and the @UnlikelyHikers Instagram community, she wants to bust up preconceived notions of what an “outdoorsperson” looks like and put a spotlight on diversity, inclusion and representation.
