Live Wire! 196: Kurt Andersen, Maria Semple, musical guest David Bazan
Kurt Andersen, Maria Semple, musical guest David Bazan
This episode was originally taped at a live show on October 13, 2012 - Wordstock Extravaganza VIII

Wordstock Extravaganza VIII, featuring:

Kurt Andersen - is a prolific novelist, screenwriter and guy-about-town-who-writes-a-lot-of-things. Seriously, he's written three novels (Turn of the Century, Heyday and most recently True Believers), essays, op-eds and shorter works, not to mention the fact that he founded the wonderfully satirical Spy Magazine back in the 80's. He's also the host and co-creator of Studio 360.

Maria Semple - is the author of This One is Mine, "a compassionate and wickedly funny satire" and most recently Where'd You Go, Bernadette, "a compulsively readable and touching novel about misplaced genius." She's also an Emmy Nominated TV writer for shows such as Ellen, Mad About You and was a consulting producer on Arrested Development.

Musical guest - David Bazan - is a Seattle-based singer/songwriter and former lead singer of indie powerhouse Pedro the Lion. The last time he was on Live Wire he pretty much killed it (in the good way) and this time should be no exception. His current Control tour finds him playing Pedro's 2002 album of the same name.
