Live Wire seeks a part-time (.6 FTE) Operations Manger to support all aspects of the team. The ideal candidate for this position would be organized, motivated, and excited to be a key part of the Live Wire staff. 

Live Wire is a show that artfully blends unpredictable conversation, live music, and original comedy from all types of cultural talent and creative minds, from emerging artists to established acts. Hosted by Luke Burbank (Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me) and taped weekly in front of a live audience in Portland, OR, Live Wire airs on 125 public radio stations across the country. 


Duties include:

Office Management

  • Administrative support to Executive Director, Development Director, and Operations Director.
  • Office organization and maintenance.
  • Database management including donor tracking, membership benefit fulfillment, season ticket holders, gift certificates, and email listserv.
  • Facilitate weekly staff meetings through note-taking and tracking of actionable items.
  • Manage Human Resources for the organization including new hire paperwork, IRS forms, insurance information, and employee contracts.
  • Maintain payment systems including donation software, Square account, and management of fiscal and accounting systems (filing, organizing, tracking).
  • Assist with the coordination, planning, staffing and set up of all events.
  • Manage all customer service inquiries.
  • Upload and maintain photo database.
  • Keep information on Live Wire website updated and accurate.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and seek to make improvements as the organization grows to expand infrastructure and resources and ensure forward progression of all projects.

Live Shows

  • Oversee front-of-house at live shows including volunteer staffing, green room, merch orders, sponsor deadlines, delivery and pick-up.
  • Maintain live show database management including audience contacts, survey results, cue sheets, donation records, show settlements & budgets.
  • Coordinate, track and proof print and merchandise orders.
  • Coordinate travel for Live Wire staff and guests, including hotel, ground transportation, and flights. 



  • Knowledge of Live Wire and enthusiasm for our mission and vision.
  • Highlight organized, time management skills, and an ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented and effective at identifying ways to improve processes, set standards and grow the organization.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in and understanding of non-profits, comfortable in small office environment.
  • Proficient with mac operating system, Word, Excel & Salesforce.
  • A sunny disposition and good sense of humor.
